I have given up trying to keep this page up to date.  It seems that every year the access numbers change.  Contact your local carrier before coming to Paris for the correct access number.  If you are already in Paris you can either ask at the hotel or try and find a copy of the USA Today newspaper which should be available at most newsstands.

Telephones in Paris are touchtone and produce the correct DTMF tones for use with your stateside based phone card. You do not need a phone card to access the above numbers from any payphone. But if you plan to call someone locally in Paris you will have to purchase a phone carte. You can get these at any post office. They come in 50F and 90F denominations.

A neat place to call someone is from the base of the Eiffel Tower. There are plenty of pay phones there.
