Alexandre Polozoff - Morocco
Getting There and Away

There are several ways to get into Morocco. You could fly in directly or, as I did, by land. The land route starts in Algercias, Spain. Here you catch the ferry at the port. You can purchase a ticket for the ferry from any of the ticket sellers at the port. Make sure to purchase your return ticket. There were problems in Morocco for some people trying to purchase returns there. There are two boats you can take, the hydrofoil or the slower car ferry. I was on the car ferry both times and from what I heard it is nicer than the hydrofoil.

The car ferry has a restaurant and bar. They take several different currencies except for Moroccoan currency. Go figure.

There is limited seating on the ferries. You need to take your ticket to a second booth near customs where you get a boarding pass for the ferry. Once the limit has been reached you will have to wait for the next ferry. They run about every 2.5 hours (also happens to be the one way travel time). Get there early to make sure you get the boarding pass for the ferry time you want.

You are allowed to sit up on deck. If the weather permits it I highly recommend sitting up on deck. This is a great place to see Gibraltar and the Tangiers coastline.
