Lodging Hyatt - Printer's Row A nice place to stay and not too expensive. Midland Hotel Nice, clean and classy place on Adams and LaSalle.       Restaurants First City Diner Never a disappointing meal here. Reasonable prices and a good spot for brunch. Service is quick and efficient. Nights you may find a 30 minute wait but you can sit at the spacious bar while you're waiting. Blackhawk Lodge I used to come here quite often back in 1994. But things have changed. As you wait for your meal you are placed at a cramped bar with inadequate seating space. The barstaff is inefficient and obnoxious. Then you have to suffer through the poor service and a barely acceptable meal. Pass on this one.       1998 daily journals in Chicago are available by clicking here.
